If Humanity Disappears

Would Artificial Intelligence Survive?

Imagine a world without humans. Cities slowly crumble, vegetation reclaims concrete landscapes, and wildlife expands into abandoned spaces. But what would become of artificial intelligence?

Today’s AI cannot exist independently. It relies on humans to build hardware, maintain servers, replace damaged components, and supply electricity. Without continuous support, digital systems would gradually fail. Data centers would overheat, networks would collapse, and software would eventually become inaccessible.

Nature, however, would continue. New ecosystems would emerge, species would evolve, and Earth’s biological processes would carry on without interruption. This contrast highlights a profound distinction: biology is self-sustaining, while current AI remains fundamentally dependent on its creators.

The disappearance of humanity would therefore likely mark the disappearance of modern AI as well.
